Policy & Terms
HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices: For your convenience, we have posted our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for you to review. Click here to download our Notice of Privacy Practices in PDF format.
Confidentiality: Your protected health information is strictly confidential. We will not release your medical information to anyone without your written consent. If you want your medical record sent to another physician we will require a written authorization be completed and signed by you.
Scheduling and Appointments: When scheduling your appointment briefly describe your needs to our staff so that we can ensure you are given an appropriate appointment time. We make a concerted effort to schedule appointments to accommodate the needs of our patients, as we know your time is valuable as well. However, sometimes we do fall behind on our schedule or are called out of the office to attend deliveries or to handle emergency cases. In those instances your visit will be handled by our highly trained Nurse Practitioner. If time allows our staff will attempt to notify you by telephone so that you can choose to either keep your appointment time or reschedule.
Cancelling an Appointment: If you cannot keep your scheduled appointment, please give our office at least 24 hours notice. In the event you will be unavoidably late for your appointment, please call our office and let us know. If you arrive very late, we may offer you an appointment time with our nurse practitioner or you may have to reschedule your appointment.
Prescriptions and Refills: Whenever possible, try to request new prescriptions and refills at your appointment. Please make every effort to give us ample notification prior to taking your last dose, to fill your prescription due to the high volume of requests. For Routine Prescription Refill Requests please allow our office 24-48 hours to contact you or your pharmacy.
Please call our triage nurse during office hours for questions or requests regarding prescription refills. Your medical record will be pulled and appropriately distributed to the nurse who will review and discuss your request with the physician. Please have your pharmacy name and phone number available. Our office policy discourages from calling in new prescriptions over the telephone, as the most accurate way to diagnosis is usually possible only with an office visit.
Medical Record Requests: Upon written request to transfer your medical record to another physician and/or facility our office will charge the customary fee pursuant to Missouri Statute No. 1427, Section 191.227 that reads a physician is permitted to charge a handling fee of $20.65 plus $0.49 per page for copies of documents made on a standard copy machine.
Fees and Payment: Our fees are based on the usual and customary professional fees for obstetrics and gynecology in the Metropolitan St. Louis area. Services rendered non-covered by your insurance company can be paid by cash, check and we accept most major credit cards. For other payment arrangements, please ask to speak with the billing office prior to your appointment.
Emergency Care: Please make every effort to limit your calls after hours to urgent and emergency concerns. Call our office at (314) 388-5326 or toll free at (866) 389-9423 to reach our answering service. They will contact the physician on call immediately who will return your call as soon as possible. No narcotics or routine prescriptions (hormones, birth control, etc.) will be filled by the on call physician.
Telephone Calls: Please make a concerted effort to call our office regarding routine questions during our regular office hours. When calling with a problem or question, briefly describe your situation to a member of our staff. This will help the physicians determine the nature of the problem and respond accurately to your request. Either a staff member or the physician will return your call.
Unless the call is very urgent or an emergency, calls will usually be returned by close of business day. Non-urgent phone calls may be returned the following business day. Please make sure to leave a number you can be reached at during these times.
